AN DOUAR HAGUS AN SPÉIR

"Earth and Sky"

Tornaod's first CD was launched april 2002 at about the same moment as they set sail for America for their first two major festivals there.
They played at 'Festival Internationel' in Lafayette, Louisiane and at 'Potomac Celtic Fest' in Washingten D.C.
Those two appearances... have helped their C.D achieve high chart positions on numerous internet music sites (vitamic.com, amazon.fr). The group also had the pleasure to meet and share stages with Battlefield band, Andy Stewert, Nolwenn Majarpeet, Teada Mahalla, Queens, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Donna the Bufelo, Muses, The Respectables, Grand Dérangement, Les Batines, The Waifs and Tinsmith.
The first album's thought process is both progressive and universal. The majority of the record is comprised of TBK compositions and also traditional songs arranged by the group as a whole. All great works of art should uplift humanity. All music has a message. Our purpose on this first effort is to help guide our listeners towards a new world that is not situated in the ocean or space, but rather around and inside us (i.e. new world view). Our past is rich but our future can be richer still if we allow our spirits to be open and make the connection between our yesterdays, todays, and tomorrows. The lyrics focus on the beauty and importance of life. A strong presence of ecological thought and new age themes can also be found upon closer examination. We hope our music facilitates your discovery of strength and joy in your everyday dreams. FOOTNOTE: Our album was mastered by Jean-Pierre Bouquet; who recently mastered "O ' Stravinsky" on the Virgin Classics label.

Paddy's lamentation
(Dear Old Dublin)
The sad story of all the Paddies who left Ireland for America; only to find themselves conscripted into President Lincoln's Union armies. Fleeing the famine back home, they certainly did not find the "American dream" here in the 1800's. A highly energized rendition.

Desert of soul
An intimate tune with gothic touches, immersed in a heavy and mystical setting. The solitude of a lost man who seems to be caught in his own barren, desert of life.
Words/music TBK

Tir na nóg (land of eternal youth/celtic paradise)
This eleven and a half minute opus is the signature piece and first original composition written by Tornaod in 1998. The long progressive interceltic suite reflects their openness to all musical experiences. Composed in six movements, it incorporates ballads, jigs, gavottes, and rock and serves as a homage to the entire Celtic community worldwide.
